Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications

– BSc in Quantity Surveying or construction related subject
– Post qualification construction experience with an established sub-contractor or main contractor
– Track record on residential and commercial projects under varying forms of main contract/subcontract
– Experience of package negotiation
– Computer literate with good working knowledge of MS Office packages
– Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills
– Strong analytical and logical skills
– Able to work accurately with figures
– Full UK/EU driving licence

– M&E Project: 1 year (Required)
– Surveying: 3 years (Preferred)
– NEC Contracts: 3 years (Required)

As the construction industry grows, more skilled jobs become available, and we now have the opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor/ Contracts Manager to work at the renowned Paul and Page. This company has been built from the ground up easily establishing itself as one of the high-end property development companies around.

This particular role will include assisting the MD with land and property appraisals along with various other responsibilities.

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be in charge of all costs and have the knowledge and expertise to see a project through from its inception to its conclusion.

You will need to ensure that the project(s) run smoothly and deal with any issues along the way. You will be the main port-of-call throughout the development and even after completion. You will need to understand about Paul and Page and work within the company’s guidelines, concerning contracts and profitability and essentially maintaining the high standards that have previously been set. We can continue with our business due to the strong relationships formed between staff, contractors and clients. It is essential that these relationships are continued and respected. You must be able to liaise with the legal department ensuring all relevant paperwork is up-to-date and correct.

You will become one of the team and will be treated as such. We have a friendly atmosphere within our company, so we need the right person to come along and ‘fill-the-gap’. We pride ourselves on our outstanding developments, and this is only achieved when we have the right team members working together.

All commercial aspects of the projects will be looked after by the Quantity Surveyor as will cash-flow and the production of all relevant reports such as profitability, sales, expenditures, among others.

As the Quantity Surveyor, you will essentially manage all costs relating to the project from the initial estimations to the final figures. You will either work from our beautiful office or from the site, and you will be the main person seeing the project through from beginning to end.

You are required to produce all monthly status reports, accurate internal/external cash-flows for projects as well as report/monitor/forecast such things as preliminaries vs budget, manufacturing cost vs budget, installation works vs budget and design cost vs performance.

You must also organise and attend all relevant meetings on and off site.
These responsibilities are a select few. The role of the Quantity Surveyor is an important one and needs to be undertaken by a dedicated team player. Paul and Page Developments is only as good as its team.

Working Site Foreman

Job Type: Long term contract/self-employed
Salary: £38 – 45k


Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications

– Experience of managing the build entire build process across multiple sites
– Skilled in at least one building method (eg carpentry/plumbing or other) but ideally you will be multi-skilled across different methods as you will be expected to perform construction work alongside your team
– Experience of managing contractors across multiple sites
– Clear and concise verbal and written communication
– Ability to read detailed drawings and plans
– Have a positive attitude
– Logical and organised
– Enjoy taking responsibility for specified tasks

Other Requirements
– Full UK driving licence
– CSCS preferred but can be arranged if you do not have
– Tools and van

Renowned for our bespoke designs using high quality products, and our attention to detail, we are passionate about what we do. Due to growth we are now looking for an experienced working Site Foreman to join us and support our team with our expanding residential portfolio.

A construction foreman must be the master of many different skillsets and scenarios. You must be able to plan ahead and yet respond on your feet as well as be a master communicator, planner, and safety expert. You will have to make sure the project will be completed on schedule and at a high quality. Having quality tools that promote safety and productivity are essential to every construction foreman and his team’s success.

You will have experience of managing the entire new build process and all construction methods including electrical, plumbing, carpentry and groundworks as well as working across multiple sites whilst managing a small team. You will be skilled in at least one building method (carpentry/plumbing or other) and have experience of dealing with all aspects of site safety including staff training.

This role will require you to complete builds (both new builds and renovations) on schedule, within budget and to a high standard. In addition you will be responsible for all aspects of safety onsite, managing and coordinating the team, reporting back to management and undertaking elements of the construction work yourself.
